Rosalia
Rosalia Vila (aka Rosalia) is a Spanish pop singer and flamenco performer. Involved in the margins of popular and traditional music since she was a teenager, she is also involved in other genres such as the hip hop soul genre and trap. Flamenco guitarist Pepe habichuela has described her voice as delicate and sharp, but still with the bite of older singers. El Mal Querer was her significant commercial breakthrough and critical success in the year 2018. After Los Angeles garnered her attention and a Latin Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist It also topped the Billboard charts of Latin Pop Albums and she won a Grammy. La Fama, featuring The Weeknd, was released in 2021. Motomami the third album by her, featured songwriting collaborations between Cory Henry and James Blake. The set was released in March 2022 following an appearance of the single Chicken Teriyaki on Saturday Night Live. Rosalia was the first Spanish singer to sing as a solo performer on the show. Motomami was the only female ever to be the recipient of the Latin Album of the Year two times and also the three Latin Grammy Awards.
