MANUEL-TURIZO

Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His international success has seen his rise into the mainstream of Latin music. In 2016, his hit Una Lady Como Tu was the winner of a Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. His debut album ADN was issued by La Industria Inc., an Medellin-based Sony distribution company. The album reached number 8 according to the Top Latin Albums Chart. Vaina Loca was a Top Five hit for Ozuna as well as him the year following. In 2020 he released his charting sophomore album Dopamina and co-wrote Mala Influencia along with Noriel. He appeared later in 2021 as a duo with TINI on her smash streaming single Maldita Foto. 2000 also saw the huge hit La Bachata appeared in 2023. Turizo's mother and brother were both musicians when he was born. In his interviews, he's described the music he plays as a compulsory activity. He started playing the saxophone and guitar as well as piano, and ukulele as the age of a small child. His first career choice was to be a veterinarian however, his brother Julian convinced him to study how to sing under the help of a Cuban instructor. What he got was realizing that he had talents for singing, changed the direction of his life.
