Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit, an Indian actor who has been known for her roles in Hum Aapke Hai Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is among the most well-known Indian actors. Her career began as a performer during the 80s. Her fame was boosted by Tezaab, a film starring an established actor Anil Kooor. She next appeared in the film Dil where she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. In the beginning, as a child growing up in Mumbai's middle class she started to dance. When she was still in high school, she attempted acting, but most of those early films were unsuccessful. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and went on to be one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. The actress took a hiatus from her career after her wedding before returning to the world of entertainment. Recently, she had a major role to play as a character in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these she's received 8. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize in India is bestowed to Dixit. She is known for her charitable work as well.
